Meet Karina B. Swenson, Esq.
Karina B. Swenson is an attorney and policy specialist, passionate about serving the underserved and empowering voices from within traditionally marginalized communities.
A Chancellor Scholar from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Karina has spent her career at the intersection of law, policy, and community impact. She also brings hands-on HR leadership experience as former Vice President of Human Resources for a Massachusetts nonprofit.
In 2026, Karina launched Swenson Law Group to provide strategic legal counsel exclusively for nonprofits and mission-driven leaders.
Geographic Scope
We serve nonprofit organizations in Colorado with full-scope legal services and work with organizations nationwide on federal tax-exempt matters, governance, and strategic advisory. When state-specific issues arise outside Colorado, we collaborate with local counsel as needed.

- Helped pass two landmark Colorado bills addressing the over-criminalization of kids. Direct File Reform HB12-1139 and HB12-1271
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE
- Lived and served in Ecuador, improving educational opportunities for youth and volunteering at La Casa Acogida Maria Amor — one of Ecuador's only shelters for abused women and children

- Served on the boards of the Colorado Springs NAACP, ACLU, and Greenberg Center for Learning and Tolerance
